A well-known, coast-to-coast law firm has a need for a Litigation Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant to support several busy attorneys in its downtown Washington, D.C. office. The Litigation Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of complex litigation matters, including:

  • preparation and filing of pleadings and briefs with State and Federal courts;
  • drafting, proofreading and editing of correspondence and other documents (transcription/dictation as required);
  • maintaining oversight of client and firm files:
  • coordinating time entry, expense reimbursements and handling client billing;
  • scheduling travel arrangements, meetings and appointments; and
  • performing other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of litigation secretarial experience in a law firm setting.
  • Proven experience with TOA, TOC, Styles and redlining.
  • Solid experience in trial preparation and litigation procedures.
  • Proficiency with State and federal Filings, including E-filing.
  • Advanced technical skills in computers, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance, prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Professional and courteous attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with courts, clients and legal staff is required.
