Law firm, entrenched as a leader in the areas of technology and life sciences law is seeking an Intellectual Property (IP)/Patent Technical Specialist for its sophisticated IP & Technology group in Washington, D.C. office.  The IP/Patent Technical Specialist will be part of an expert team and will work collaboratively to provide consulting and analysis on U.S. and Foreign patent counseling and applications.

Requirements: 

  • 2 years of experience as a technical specialist in the areas of Pharmaceuticals, Biochemistry or Immunology; law firm experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Advanced degree in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (specializing in synthesis of molecule pharmaceuticals, medical device polymers or agrochemical products).
  • Advanced degree in Biochemistry or Cell Biology (specializing in cancer or other metabolic disorders).
  • Advanced degree in Immunology or Molecular Biology (specializing in protein engineering, especially antibody engineering).

Law firm, built on client relationships and quality representation, is seeking an Energy Analyst to join its Washington, D.C. office. The Energy Analyst will work closely with attorneys to provide high quality, timely analysis regarding the energy market and environmental regulatory developments affecting the electricity, natural gas and oil industries; including issues pertaining to renewable energy and climate change. The Energy Analyst is expected to engage in data gathering, research, analysis, and writing.  Primary responsibilities will include:

  • assessing potential price trends and risks for oil, natural gas and electricity;
  • performing analysis on complex quantitative data; and
  • preparing presentations and responding to client requests/inquiries for data and analysis.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, and/or related field of study. 
  • 0 – 2 years of experience with energy fundamentals, markets and policy in law firm setting (i.e. natural gas, oil, solar, wind, etc.).
  • Displays well-rounded communication skills with a clear and concise writing style. The ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally.
  • Works well in a team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the needs of a diverse team.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, using spreadsheets to manipulate large amounts of quantitative data.
