Specialized, multi office law firm seeks a Litigation Paralegal to join its Washington, D.C. office. Under the guidance of the firm’s Environmental Practice Group, the Litigation Paralegal will manage a wide range of duties focused on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) product registration matters, including:
- Fact investigation and case development (i.e. conducting research, compiling data, and requesting information from state and federal agencies/courts).
- Drafting and preparing correspondence, pleadings and briefs.
- Cite-checking, proofreading, and Bluebooking.
- Deposition tracking and preparation.
- Coordinating eDiscovery, document production and management.
- Hearing and trial support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of litigation experience as a paralegal in a law firm setting; experience with EPA and/or Environmental Law matters is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred; Associate’s degree and/or Paralegal Accreditation along with relevant experience is welcome.
- Experience with all stages of litigation, including document management and production, conducting research, compiling data, and hearing/trial support.
- Experience with electronic filings (state and federal), as well as, court rules and procedures.
- Proficiency with cite-checking and Bluebook rules.
- Excellent communication, organizational, writing and interpersonal skills in order to interact with courts, clients and legal staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong team player with the willingness to work overtime as necessary.
