IP Docketing Coordinator (Team Lead)

Law firm that counsels Fortune 500 clients on global business, regulatory and litigation matters around the world has an immediate opening for an experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Coordinator to join its IP Practice Group in Washington, D.C. The IP Docketing Coordinator will execute a wide variety of assignments, in pursuit and maintenance of, essential to IP operations. The IP Docketing Coordinator will be responsible for, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Reviewing and maintaining docketing database for accuracy and integrity.
  • Researching and resolving docketing discrepancies.
  • Distribution of workload for assigned team members.
  • Mentoring and training of docketing specialists and docketing assistants.
  • Making recommendations on training policies and procedures.
  • Assisting as a backup to docketing manager as necessary.
  • Performing miscellaneous special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • 5 years IP docketing experience in a law firm setting with an emphasis on U.S. and Foreign Patent, Trademark and Litigation applications and filings.
  • Prior docketing team lead or supervisor experience is required.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, writing and computer skills with a demonstrated proficiency in Windows-based software applications and document management systems.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills needed.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adjust quickly to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of productivity.
